ASIDE FROM the color green, brown is also connected to life.  It is the color of soil and of tree stems, branches and barks. Without it, most plants cannot survive.  Here’s a photo of an old local chico tree (naseberry / sapodilla tree) showing its craggy and coarse bark.

In the entire body of the tree,  it is this tiny shoot eager to make its way out that caught my interest to take a snap. Thus, from this brown, something green grows. Shoot!
